Your personal statement is your opportunity to demonstrate why you think you would be a good candidate for the course you are applying to and why the University should select your application over those of other applicants. It is primarily an academic statement and you must target it very directly towards the subject in which you are interested, though a university will also want to know something about your more general interests.
Please ensure, when writing your statement, that you keep your paragraphs reasonably brief. Long paragraphs are more difficult to read, so keeping your paragraphs fairly short ensures that your statement has structure and is easy to read.
