Question

Do I have to do a Maths Assessment if I apply for an Engineering programme with a BTEC?

Answer

Answer

Yes, if you are applying for one of our Engineering BEng or MEng degree programmes and you are studying a BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma or a BTEC Diploma with no Maths A-Level you will be invited to a Maths Assessment.

The Maths Assessment will take place during one of our Applicant Discovery Days and you will receive an invitation with a brief description of the assessment once you have applied via UCAS and the admission team have assessed your qualifications. Whether you receive an offer for the course will be dependent on you passing the Maths assessment.

If you apply with a BTEC Diploma and a Maths A-Level or a BTEC Subsidiary diploma and a Maths A-Level (plus a second science A-Level) you will not be required to sit the Maths assessment.
